Up for sale is a rare December 1973 Framus Strato de Luxe (Model 5/168). This instrument has been upgraded with an authentic, period-correct 1970s Framus active preamp circuit board—delivering the high-end active tones usually found in the Jan Akkerman and Nashville signature models! (PCB stamped with the Framus logo)
Electronics & Custom Setup
Active Heart: Genuine 1970s Framus active board for unbelievable headroom, clarity, and vintage lead boost.
Lead Boost: Configured so the active boost directly drives the bridge pickup into a massive lead voice via toggle switch.
Iconic Controls: Features the classic 3-mini-switch array (individual On/Off for each pickup).
Hardware: Original gold-anodized aluminum "Cockpit" pickguard and the original Framus Roller Bridge.

Recently underwent a comprehensive professional overhaul:
Deep-cleaned body & polished original finish.
Frets polished to a high shine for smooth bending.
Fretboard conditioned with high-grade lemon oil.

Condition & Transparency Note
Battery Cavity (Back): To power the 9V active preamp, a custom battery compartment was added to the back of the body. It is purely functional, located on the back (completely hidden while playing), and holds the battery securely. Please see photos!
