Beautiful German made pernambuco bass bow.
Just had a full refurb, new hair, recamber, leather and silver wire.
Made in Germany in the first half of the 20th century, this is a lovely balanced professional bow, with great response from the string and warm clear articulate sound.
Very nice pernambuco stick.
The frog has been damaged at some point but this has been repaired and is presenting no issues to the bows sound or playability.
It is possible the mounts are silver as this was most common on these bows at the time however I am unable to confirm this, so sold on the presumption that they are nickel
The sister bow to this is currently for sale in turner violins for £1500. To reflect the frog and that cosmetically it is not as perfect as this alternative I am valuing it at £850 however these points above make no difference to how it plays or sounds.
677mm length excluding screw.
150 grams
Nickel
