Hello and welcome to The House of Chrome.

You are looking at a very nice Shure Brothers "Sphere - O - Dyne" 533SB dynamic microphone based on the same 533SA model with high impedance setting. The 533SB was factory set at Low impedance which is the only difference between the 533SA from this 533SB. This mic was a radical new look for Shure in the early 1960's and a design that closely resembles most modern microphones of today with it's practical design and stick shape. It comes with a Shure mic pouch, mic clip and short cable in which to operate.

The mic was made for about 20 + years and was an affordable "general purpose microphone" that is quite rugged in design and built like a tank. They hold up very well over the decades and this one still sounds like brand new.

Pic # 2 shows this very model and it's characteristics in an older Shure catalog I have.

The omni-directional pattern of this mic allows the user to pick up a bit more sound from a wider area. Despite being set at Low impedance it does have a dirtier sound so if you are looking for a "rockabilly" sound then this might work well for you. The signal strength is 100%.

The satin chrome body on this mic is quite nice as seen in the pictures provided with a minimum of wear. The chrome mesh screen is free of any dents, odors or tarnish. The on / off switch works perfectly. I'd rate this mic a true 8 + on a scale of 1 - 10. A very nice working example.

The plastic mic clip is a generic Shure style that is older but it fits perfectly allowing a firm grasp and will provide a wide degree of tilt up and down. The clip is in excellent shape and will screw onto any desk or floor stand you have.

The 2 pin cable is included and it's just 8 inches in length. It's soft, pliable and has the quality Switchcraft male XLR end connector. Cable works excellent and there is no wear to it. I soldered this myself so it will last for decades. Simply leave the short cable screwed onto the mic then attach any longer XLR cable you need as an extension. Just far more practical that way as you won't have to constantly unscrew a cable or screw it back on every time you want to use the mic and you won't risk damaging the cable threads on the mic.

The black vinyl Shure mic pouch is a great place to store and transport the mic when not in use. The pouch itself shows zero wear and a great accessory to have to keep the mic from getting scratched or damaged. Zipper works perfect too.

MICROPHONE STAND SHOWN IS NOT PART OF THIS SALE...FOR DISPLAY PURPOSES ONLY.

As with all my vintage microphones...

I can promise you will be happy with it for the price paid. If not...I have a no hassle return policy. The shipping will be on you as I believe that's fair but the purchase price would be refunded. Domestic buyer will get priority shipping.
