Description

The Sansui AU-α707L Extra, released in Japan in 1989 during the “Golden Era” of high-fidelity Japanese audio equipment, is a vintage integrated amplifier of exceptional quality. The AU-α707L Extra offers a rated output power of 130W+130W (8 Ohms) with total harmonic distortion (THD) of < 0.003%. This amp is built like a tank, but to a high degree of precision. The amp circuitry is of the highest quality, featuring Sansui’s Linear Amplification Power Transistor (LAPT), specially designed to preserve signal linearity. The concept behind the LAPT is to improve the electronic signal characteristics via materials engineering. For example, by the use of pure copper and demagnetized bonding wire, the signal cutoff frequency is improved, and the signal bandwidth is widened. This amp also features Sansui’s New Diamond Differential Circuit in the drive stage, in which the output is extracted without phase inversion. This helps the amp respond to instantaneous signals and maintain high current supply for a rapidly changing input signal. The AU-α707L Extra has Sansui’s X-Balance amplification schema. This features a balanced configuration (whereby the + and - sides of the speaker are driven equally) of the signal circuit from end to end, which eliminates any influence of the electronic ground. Everything about this amp spells quality, with its precise, thoughtful construction and handsome appearance. These fantastic vintage Sansui amps are rather rare, so don’t miss this one in very good condition!


This unit is in very good condition, with only some general aging, including some scratches and stain. It has a dent on iuts corner (please see photos). This amplifier has been thoroughly checked and tested by our professional technician, who has confirmed its integrity and working condition.
