In the late Sixties, John Anthony Genzale, Jr.—the skinny Italian kid from Queens expanded on Keith Richards style and image. He added hard rock guitar licks, a gnarly pretty boy persona and invented every black haired rock n roll star from Paul Stanley to Howard Stern to Nikki Sixx.

His role as Johnny Thunders with the rest of The New York Dolls set the pace for the Dandy Boy, Glam, American Rock and Roll Star. The stupidity of drug abuse took Johnny all too soon. His iconic guitar rests in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
