1980s OAKLAND ARCHTOP TENOR BANJO
A fantastic, heavy archtop banjo from the 1980s made at the Kasuga factory in Japan, identical in construction to the Aria Pro II—but with an archtop sound ring. These Japanese master clones are absolutely on par with their Gibson counterparts in terms of sound and playability!
Length 89 cm, scale length 58 cm, nut width 29 mm, head size 11"
The instrument’s hardware was originally gold-plated, as you can still see by looking under the head. It’s unclear why the gold plating was removed from the externally visible parts. There is some minor dirt and a bit of patina on the metal parts. Otherwise, the banjo shows no damage and sounds and plays fantastically. It comes ready to play in GDAE tuning for Irish traditional music in its original case.
