Many say the cable makes the difference... wow! They're right... this cable I found in an old studio is one of the first made by the Neumann labs in Berlin, sold separately as an accessory, as it's made with a high-quality braided cable (looks like BELDEN) and heavy-duty Tuchel connectors. Furthermore, the female end has the original swivel joint (hard to find). Using it, the human ear probably can't distinguish any substantial differences, but in recording, yes, you can definitely hear them... a gem for owners of vintage U67s, for those who can afford it.
