I wouldn't rule out using it as a fingerboard but it is missing a section of the fingerboard between the 4th and 6th fret. So, you could also think of it as having 14 out of 16 split parallelogram inlays from the 50s and some usable binding and side dots for repair. There is also some nice 50s vintage rosewood for repair splicing as it looks like someone availed themselves of on the bass side of the 4th fret.
