About this listing
Sabian 17" HHX X-Plosion Crash Brilliant Finish
The HHX X-Plosion Crash delivers immediate projection and cutting clarity with a bright, articulate attack that cuts through dense mix environments. This 17-inch crash responds crisply to both controlled and explosive hits, making it equally capable in studio recording and live performance. The brilliant finish amplifies the cymbal's inherent brightness while maintaining the complex tonal character that defines the HHX series.
Sound Character & Tone
Built on Sabian's HHX series platform, this crash produces a dark and tonally complex sound despite its brilliant finish—a distinctive trait that prevents it from sounding thin or one-dimensional. The Tone Projection design ensures the crash cuts effectively in full band contexts while sustaining presence across the frequency spectrum.
Construction & Design
The medium-thin weight classification provides responsive attack and faster decay compared to heavier crashes, making this cymbal ideal for styles requiring nuance and definition. Super-sized hammering across the cymbal's surface creates the characteristic lathing and textural complexity that contributes to the HHX series' reputation for tonal depth.
