For sale is a 1989 Gibson Les Paul Pre-Historic ’59 Reissue, from the era immediately preceding Gibson’s Historic Collection.These late-’80s Pre-Historic Les Pauls have developed a strong following among players and collectors for their unique place in Gibson history, combining vintage-inspired ’59 appointments with the character of Gibson’s late-1980s production.This example has a beautiful Heritage Cherry Sunburst finish with a classic figured maple top and the unmistakable look of an early Pre-Historic Les Paul.The guitar is in good overall condition for its age and shows normal cosmetic wear consistent with a vintage instrument. The neck is straight, the guitar plays properly, and the electronics are functioning as they should.The original pickups have been replaced with a set of Gibson ’57 Classics, which suit this guitar extremely well and retain the traditional PAF-style character expected from a ’59-style Les Paul.
