About this listing
The BOSS DN-2 Dyna Drive is an unusual overdrive pedal designed to respond to how you play, not just how much distortion you dial in. Introduced in 2007, it uses BOSS's Dyna Amp technology to move smoothly from a relatively clean tone to crunchy or heavy overdrive based on your picking strength and your guitar's volume setting. It is now discontinued, but it is still a brand-new pedal that comes with Boss's warranty. Its main appeal is that you can get several levels of gain without switching pedals on and off. What does it sound like?Soft picking: A relatively clean, open tone with good note definition.Medium picking: A crunchy, responsive overdrive suited to blues and classic rock.Hard picking: More aggressive, higher-gain distortion with extra sustain.Rolling back your guitar's volume: Helps clean up the tone while retaining articulation. The pedal is designed to make these transitions feel smooth and expressive, somewhat like the way a responsive tube amplifier reacts to your playing.
