There are rare mics, and then there’s super rare. This is an RCA Victor PB‑31 with authentic Radio City Music Hall provenance. Purpose-built for the iconic theatre when it opened in 1932, this microphone captured legendary performances from Elvis Presley, Frank Sinatra, Ella Fitzgerald, Ray Charles, Sammy Davis Jr. to name but a few, ,a true piece of 20th-century performance history.
These microphones remained in service at Radio City for more than 50 years before being removed during a major sound system overhaul in the 1980s. With only about six PB‑31s known to survive, this microphone is extremely rare. Fully operational, it offers both authentic vintage sound and unmatched historical provenance, making it a prestigious collectible and investment ready artefact.
