From the 1964 (JMI) Vox catalog: "A fine little amplifier for the soloist. Two inputs, tone, and volume controls. Fitted with 8" loud speaker and foot operated Vibrato on/off control. Attractive standard presentation, stowage space for accessories." A fine amplifier indeed!
This fine 1964 Vox AC4 features rare red covering and its original vibrato on/off footswitch. The output transformer is original to the amp however the power transformer was an improperly installed replacement when we acquired it. We sourced a proper power transformer from Mercury Magnetics and had it professionally installed. It does have a few other changed parts including the plastic Vox logo on the front, a potentiometer, and a few capacitors. The speaker appears to be original but does have some cone patches. The amp actually sounds quite nice as it is and the vibrato is a nice touch.
