Orange Terror Series AmpsBuying Guide

Explore the famously powerful Tiny Terror line of guitar and bass amplifiers from Orange.

Back in November of 2005, a prototype was designed by Orange engineers that would eventually turn into the 15-watt Tiny Terror amp head—the first in what has since become a much more robust and expansive series.

Designed to bring players power amp distortion in a light and portable package, these little amps are the perfect companion for the rolling stone who travels light, the space-conscious apartment dweller, or any player looking for a compact unit with a powerful punch.

Orange Terror Series Guitar Amps

Before long, that '05 prototype evolved into the the first official entry into Orange's Terror series—the TT15H Tiny Terror 15-watt amp head. This small but powerful amp became a fast favorite, and before long, players were making requests for additional features.

The next entry into the series, the 30-watt DT30H Dual Terror, was designed from the desire to have two Tiny Terrors in one box so that players could switch between channels and set particular levels for leads and regular playing. Then players started asking for a Terror with an effects loop, so Orange answered with the DA15H Dark Terror, which featured an overdrive in the preamp and power amp and a buffered effects loop.

Other additions to the series include extra-compact models, like the MT20 Micro Terror and Micro Dark amp head.

Orange Terror Series Artist Signatures

Designed to provide high power in an exceedingly compact and portable package has meant that this series has found favor with a lot of heavily gigging musicians, some of which have partnered with Orange to make their own signature Terror models.

Brent Hinds of Mastodon, for example, worked with Orange in 2018 on his own 2-channel signature, which you can watch Reverb's Joe Shadid check out in the video below. Also featured below is the Orange Signature #4 Jim Root Terror head.

Orange Terror Series Combos & Stacks

Orange's Terror Series even expanded to feature stacks and combo variations, still maintaining the line's steadfast commitment to powerful portability. These units are small, mighty, and an excellent value for the money.

Orange Terror Series Bass Amps

Not just guitarists, of course, have been enticed by the idea of a powerful amp in a compact package. Bassists have yearned to get in on the fun, too, and Orange has answered with a line of Tiny Terror bass heads perfected suited to let their low-end friends in on the action.
