I bought this from the US distributor in 1989. It is one of the earliest reissues of this legendary effect. There are lots of newer reissues available, but the last time one of these '80s USA-made ones sold on Reverb was in 2023. You probably already know this, but this is a treble-dominant fuzz effect with an octave-up component that can be heard with some pickups in some positions on a guitar. I tested it recently with a Strat, and it sounds just like it did when I first received it--playing the "Purple Haze" solo sounds right. Jimi Hendrix also used this on his second album and The Band of Gypsys album. And of course many other guitarists have used this or similar pedals for decades. But this is the real deal.
