About this listing
The LOMO 19A4 is a rare tube small-diaphragm condenser microphone, produced in limited quantities by the LOMO plant between 1963 and 1969. It is estimated that only 300–400 units were ever made.At its core, the 19A4 features the 6S6B subminiature tube, the same tube found in the 19A10, 19A13, 19A14, and 19A18 models. This tube serves as the Soviet equivalent of the AC701K, a legendary component in high-end vintage microphones.Visually, the 19A4 appears to be influenced by the Schoeps 221B, sharing its rotating capsule head, which allows users to adjust the microphone's polar pattern by opening or closing the rear vents—cardioid when vented, omnidirectional when closed.Sonically, however, the 19A4 has a character all its own. It delivers an incredibly rich and velvety tone, with a slightly rounded top end, yet maintains excellent transient response and remarkable detail—all without harshness or unwanted midrange emphasis. It is an exceptional choice for room mics, acoustic guitars, drum overheads, guitar amps, and bowed instruments. This microphone works correctly, no hum & distortion. The sound full and solid. The original Soviet output cable has been changed to 3-pin to XLR.PSU works on 220V. Original power cord with EU type plug included. We ship worldwide, feel free to ask for a precise shipping quote.
