About this listing
Rare Gretsch G6073 Electrotone bass with original hard case and paperwork. Manufactured at the renowned Terada plant in Japan in April 2006.This short scale semi hollow bass (simulated F holes) has been professionally modified prior to my ownership. One could say it has been "Tennessee-fied", as it was made to resemble the Tennessean/TN Rose guitars by the same brand. An original Chet Atkins Tennessee Rose pickguard has been installed, and the headstock sports the same "Tennessean" chrome plate that's found on that guitar. There is also an extra switch by the bridge PU volume knob. I yet have to understand if it indeed has a function, but it sure doesn't get in the way. Besides this switch, the modifications are purely esthetic and easily reversible, barely leaving any visible marks. This bass is in fabulous condition, and the build quality and fit are absolutely top notch. Nice dark rosewood fretboard, as shown in the images. The TV Jones pickups deliver a wide array of tones - from vintage thump to more punchy ones. The bass is currently strung with essentially new flatwound D'Addario strings. Despite its imposing presence, it's a very light instrument - less than eight pounds I would say.Don not miss the opportunity to own this exquisite instrument, which had a short life and seldom appears on the market. It will ship in its original hard case - also in excellent condition - along with all the original paperwork.I strive to over-deliver and believe this priced to sell, but reasonable offers from serious Reverbers will be considered. I always ship within 24 hours unless it's weekend/holiday and always ship with Reverb protection.
