Here the Gibson Custom Shop follows the tradition of a mahogany body with a maple top and a set mahogany neck with a more powerful "Chunky C-Shape". With two Gibson Custombucker pickups and the hand-wired circuitry, the electric guitar furthermore delivers first-class vintage sounds whose character can hardly be distinguished from the legendary PAFs. Last but not least, the Gibson 1958 Les Paul Standard VOS Lemon Burst features authentic Hardware in the form of a no-wire ABR-1 Tune-O-Matic bridge, stopbar tailpiece and Kluson single line/single ring tuners.Gibson 1958 Les Paul Standard in authentic constructionBuilt using traditional methods, the Gibson 1958 Les Paul Standard Reissue impresses with the feel and sound of the legendary "Holy Grails". Accordingly, the Gibson Custom Shop uses a one-piece mahogany body with a correct plain maple top, while the mahogany neck is glued with a long neck foot and carries a fingerboard made of Indian rosewood. The use of glass-hard hide-glue guarantees optimum sound development across the entire instrument. The strong "chunky C-shape" neck profile together with the 12" fingerboard radius and the narrow frets also ensure an authentic playing feel.Gibson custom bucker for authentic PAF soundsAs the pickup for the Gibson 1958 Les Paul Standard Reissue VOS Lemon Burst, the Luthier des Gibson Custom Shop Luthier rely on two Gibson Custombucker, which prove to be authentic replicas of the legendary PAF-Humbucker with Alnico III magnets and unwaxed coils. As a result, the guitar amplifier is equipped with a lively Vintage-Sound that skillfully reproduces both clean and distorted blues, jazz or rock songs with velvety basses, vocally singing mids and an airy treble spectrum. The pickups are also controlled via the classic CTS 3-way circuit with separate volume and tone controls for each pickup. Authentic oil paper capacitors furthermore promise particularly smooth cuts in the treble spectrum.Hardware in authentic vintage styleThe Gibson 1958 Les Paul Standard Reissue VOS Lemon Burst is rounded off with high-quality hardware in the authentic Vintage-Style style. Ted McCarty's established combination of a Gibson No-Wire ABR-1 Tune-O-Matic bridge and an aluminum stopbar tailpiece is used on the body, which guarantees optimal intonation and an easy-to-play string action. Behind the historically correct nylon nut, the strings on the headstock are also held by Kluson tuners with authentic single-ring wings.
