This is a Rare Vintage 1958 Fender Duo-Sonic Guitar (#571) with its original Desert Sand finish, 1958 Maple Neck with its original Fender lacquer finish and Fender decal, and Original Fender Case. This Vintage 1958 Fender has its original anodized Pickguard, Pickups and Pots, with no changes, routes, or additional holes to the body or neck. The neck is in good condition with play wear and checking on the neck finish, with a small cigarette burn on the low E side of the tuner head, with the original Fender decal in very good condition. There are fretboard fingernail divots mainly in the first position on the fretboard, with some play wear on the original frets, also mainly in the first position as shown in the photos. Neck has a C profile, with the date of 7–58 on the butt of the neck, with a scale of 22-1/2" and 1-5/8" at the nut. The neck is straight and the truss rod is adjustable. The original Kluson Tuners easily move and hold properly, with only the original cracked/shrunken buttons replaced onto the original 1958 tuners. The guitar has a rare double stamped Neck Plate with a Serial #023306 with a hidden double stamp on the back #-25374 which was only seen in 1957-58 models. The Stackpole control pots are both dated stamped 304-807. The original pickups read a strong 6.4k for the neck and 6.5k for the bridge, with the original wiring and Switchcraft pickup switch and anodized pickguard with some play wear on the pickguard. The anodized pickguard also has the original Fender lacquer clearcoat that Fender started adding in 1958 to help preserve the anodizing. The original Fender chrome bridge cover is in very good condition and is also included. Guitar weight is 6lb.-2oz. The guitar functions, adjusts, and plays great, all adjustment screws move freely. The Desert Sand finish is all original, with some playwear, finish, checking, scratches, nicks and light buckle rash, as well as the neck finish, and shown in the photos.
