About this listing
Offering an Epiphone Les Paul Custom LPC-80 manufactured in 2001 at the legendary FujiGen Gakki factory in Japan, exclusively for the Japanese domestic market (JDM).A bit of historyThe LPC-80 is the successor to the iconic Orville by Gibson line - Japanese guitars built by FujiGen on behalf of Gibson in cooperation with distributor Yamano Gakki. When the Orville series ended in the mid-90s, it was replaced by Epiphone Japan models - built in the same factory, to the same quality standards. The LPC-80 series was produced exclusively from 1998 to 2002, meaning these instruments are now over 20 years old and no longer available new. What sets the LPC-80 apart from standard Epiphones sold worldwide? First and foremost - the classic Gibson-style "open book" headstock with split-diamond inlay - a rarity on non-Gibson instruments. The long neck tenon, 7-ply body binding, 5-ply headstock binding, and Gotoh Made in Japan gold hardware mean the build quality rivals many guitars coming out of Nashville. An additional detail that matters to those in the know: the truss rod cover is secured with two screws - exactly like original Gibson guitars, unlike Chinese Epiphone models where it uses three screws.Specifications:Model: Epiphone LPC-80 (Japan Domestic Market)Year: 2001Serial number: 104144 (Made in Japan)Factory: FujiGen Gakki, JapanBody: mahogany with maple topNeck: mahogany, set-neck, long tenonFingerboard: rosewood, block inlaysScale length: 24.75" (628 mm)Binding: 7-ply body, 5-ply headstock, 1-ply neckPickups: original Epiphone Japan humbuckersControls: 2x Volume, 2x Tone, 3-way toggle switchHardware: gold Gotoh (bridge, tailpiece, tuners - Made in Japan)Truss rod cover: 2-screw, identical to Gibson guitarsColor: Alpine White (naturally aged)Finish: glossStrings: Ernie Ball 10-52 (new)Condition:Good vintage condition with visible signs of play wear appropriate for the age of the instrument.
