The sought after ELK em-4 tape echo machine. The tape heads are in great condition, the cabinet is nice. I opened it up and hit the pots and switches, cleaned and demagnetized the heads and tape, cleaned and lubricated the pinch wheel etc.

Three mic and two instrument inputs. 5 mode choices, repeat amount, echo volume and speed control, as well as bass and treble controls.

Elk is a popular vintage brand in Japan and for good reason. They are very well built, quality machines. This will oscillate gently or give you a nice simple slap back echo and anything in between. Plus variations of swell.

It's in very nice condition cosmetically, I list it as fair because the volume of the echo is not as loud as most of these I have had.Everything works but at max echo volume the echo is not very loud. You can definatley hear it and it is fully useable as is if you don't need really loud echos. But I am selling it AS IS with lower echo volume than most. I didn't look into the cause. see pics.
