Hello and welcome to The House of Chrome.

You are looking at a unique 1960's Monarch TM-16 model dynamic microphone made with an all metal body and chromes finish that closely resembled the classic Astatic 77A model mic from that era. This mic comes with a vintage Belden mic cable in which to operate.

It should be noted right away that the mic is 100% complete and has been tested. It works  perfectly and can be used for recording or general broadcasting purposes as it was designed.

The mic is set at high impedance and has an old school "rockabilly" sound being clear and smooth in nature with virtually no bass as a high impedance mic usually sounds.

This microphone has a classic mid century, modern design and is quite handsome. Certainly a more aggressive design. There were a few Japanese manufacturers that made this style of mic including Lafayette and Aiwa to name a few. It's about half the size of the Astatic 77A.

The TM-16 has an on off switch that works fine. No issues.

This will make a fun mic to use especially if you have a HAM radio set up.

This microphone is in very nice shape despite it's age being free of scratches, scuff marks or pitting. It's free of any dents as well and the black inner cloth pop filter is excellent.

The DM-16 has a perfect working joint mechanism with great tension to get just the angle needed. The Realistic badge looks great and completely legible.

The cable for this mic is the older Amphenol type and is included. It's appx 8 feet long and the cable itself is a Belden 8401 model being soft, pliable and free of heavy wear. Just a couple lite exterior stains. The cable has the quality Switchcraft male 1/4 inch end connector that will work with most audio equipment.

 I would rate this microphone physically a solid 9 on a scale of 1 - 10.

This mic will screw onto any desk or floor stand that you might have.

MICROPHONE STAND SHOWN IS NOT PART OF THIS SALE...FOR DISPLAY PURPOSES ONLY.

As with all my vintage microphones...

I can promise you will be happy with it for the price paid. If not...I have a no hassle return policy. The shipping will be on you as I believe that's fair but the purchase price would be refunded. Simply return in the same nice condition...period. Check my rating. International buyers are welcome as well. Buyer must pay within 24 hours or an unpaid case will be opened due to too many unpaid mics lately. Domestic buyer will get priority shipping.

If you have any questions feel free to ask and...thanks for looking.
