There's a nice history and story behind Tokai guitars. This Japanese guitar company gained popularity back in the mid 80's / early 90's when -according to many players around the world- both Fender and Gibson living up to their reputation; guitarists found strong alternatives in company's like Ibanez, Yamaha and...Tokai.
For years, Tokai wasn't imported into Europe (and still isn't into the US!) and so the instruments disappeared off the radar which made them collectable and iconic as many guitar players still know the extraordinary quality of the guitars.
The "better than original" image has stayed with many guitarists and has been passed on to the younger generations. And so, we are pleased to offer a large collection of both the affordable Chinese and the professional Japanese collection.
And this is the real deal! This Japanese-made Tokai features professional specs but is yet relatively affordable. The guitar has a 2-piece mahogany body, 2-piece plain maple top, rosewood fingerboard, one piece mahogany neck, PAF-style Vintage MK2S pickups and a Switchcraft 3 way selector switch.
This LS129NC isn't just 'a LS129' as it sets itself apart from the regular LS129 by its finish. These NC's are finished with nitro lacquer and are made in small quantities by Tokai in Japan, exclusively for the Benelux. Nitro cellulose finish is a lot thinner than poly urethane , resulting in a lively and resonant tone and a very natural feel of the guitar. In addition, this guitar comes with a luxury Tokai case and matching certificate.
