I have over 30 guitars, and lots of other gear, in very small living quarters. It's too much. I've begun storing guitars under the bed and under dressers. Guitar cases fill my personal storage, and that's just not how I want to live my life! This one has not been played very much. To be honest, I really only play about 3 of my guitars. So I've begun to sell some gear even though it pains me to do it.

I don't know how many of these were made, but I am certain that there were not many. This guitar sounds awesome! If you're looking at it then you probably know what it is, and that it was originally designed to compete with the Gibson Les Paul. Sadly it was discontinued pretty quickly as the people who have played these guitars love them and speak very highly of them. Most recently, Josh Homme of Queens Of The Stone Age began playing the vintage ones. Also of note, Eastwood now makes a GP, but this is an actual Ovation branded guitar! Not a clone, Not a copy.

The original production number from the 80's may have been lower than 1000. I'm certain there were WAY less of these made in 2017. Ovation was planning on bringing this back in 2017, but browsing on google leads me to believe that it never happened, which makes this guitar REALLY rare. Also, I can assure you that this guitar is not a fake. Message me if you'd like to know more about that...

I don't have any specs to take off of a website, so here is what I know...
It's heavy just like the 70's era Les Paul guitars. All of the electronics work flawlessly.
CONSTRUCTION: Set neck
COUNTRY OF ORIGIN: India
PICKUPS: Custom Dimarzio's W/ coil tap in the bridge volume pot.
TUNERS: locking Hipshot tuners.
BRIDGE: Tune-o-matic
WOOD: Flame maple top, mahogany back, w/ Binding
FRETBOARD: Rosewood
FRETS: 22
INLAYS: Block inlays, appears to be mother of pearl

I personally like to run light gauge strings on this guitar, or detune it at least a whole step. It seems to do really well like that. The Tune-O-Matic on this guitar does not allow for further lowering, but the action is currently at a little less than 2mm above the 12th fret. Sustain is excellent, there is no fret buzz, the neck is VERY straight. There is a small blemish on the headstock, which is in the photographs. There is definitely a Les Paul flavor from this guitar, with a coolness factor of playing something that almost nobody else is playing. Message me with any other questions and I'll be glad to answer whatever I can.
