Chorus Ensemble Ce1 Boss comparison Mn3002
Uses the obsolete mn3002 delay chip
Unlike Retro Sonic chorus and others,
This chorus is faithful to original And hasn’t been modified from the original
It isn’t true bypass
Yes , it includes the NPN Transistor pre amp section just like the original!!!
Runs off 9vdc ( boss style)
Internal circuitry converts the input voltage to both +/- 14 and +/- 13v Just like the original
It has jfet switching just like the original
Red led is peak level indicator
has a dual led colour
Chorus - Blue
Vibrato - Red
It has stereo outputs
Use both or just use mono
In Reverbs (Andy's Ce1 Review Video) Andy states that the Ce1 chorus has the same analogue circuit as the Roland Jazz Chorus.
This is somewhat correct. However only the very early 1970's Jazz chorus amps have the mn3002 chip. And the preamp section is not the same. Most Jazz chorus amps use the mn3007 chip with their modulation section more aligned to the ce2 circuitry.
Please note!
Boss WAZA CRAFT CE2 (CE1 mode) is not a real CE1 Chorus.
The real CE-1 Chorus only uses a MN3002 Bucket Brigade chip, and unique preamp stage.
The Waza Craft CE2 is a nice pedal ,however it is not the same as the Original Holy Grail Boss Chorus Ensemble CE-1
It also has an internal Depth Mod switch. This allows the option of the Stock setting or switch the Depth Mod on this allows the Chorus to use the Depth control. When the The depth is fully Clockwise, this will be the same setting as the Stock Chorus
The buffer mod is more noticeable when the high input level is selected.
this is an internal switch which allows a buffer circuit to be switched on or off.again when this mod is not switched on it is completely bypassed, returning the effect to its stock setting.
