A compact 2-button footswitch for compatible ENGL amplifiers using a conventional dual-function 1/4" TRS footswitch connection.

The Loop-Master Pedals ENGL Z-4 Style Footswitch provides two independent latching switching functions through a single standard TRS cable.

Depending on your ENGL amplifier and the footswitch jack being used, these switches can control functions such as Channel, Gain Boost, Master A/B, Tone, FX Loop, Noise Gate, Reverb and other supported amp functions.

It's a simple, rugged and pedalboard-friendly alternative when you don't need a large factory foot controller.

HOW IT WORKS

Connect the footswitch to a compatible ENGL footswitch input using a standard stereo/TRS cable.

The two switches independently control the Tip and Ring connections of the TRS cable.

The functions themselves are determined by your amplifier and the particular footswitch jack being used.

On compatible ENGL amplifiers, possible functions include:

• Clean / Lead

• Channel switching

• Gain Boost

• Master A / B

• Tone

• FX Loop On / Off

• Noise Gate On / Off

• Reverb On / Off

• Other supported dual switching functions

CLEAN / LEAD + GAIN BOOST

A common ENGL configuration uses the dual TRS footswitch connection for:

→ Clean / Lead

SWITCH 2

→ Gain Boost

This gives you basic channel and gain control from one tiny controller.

OTHER ENGL APPLICATIONS

The ENGL Z-4 style dual-foot switching system is used for different functions on different amplifiers and footswitch inputs.

Depending on the amp, the same basic dual TRS controller may operate combinations such as:

• Clean / Lead + Gain Boost

• Master A / B + Tone

• FX Loop + Noise Gate

• Reverb + FX Loop

• Channel + Mid Shape

Always check the manual for your specific amplifier to determine the functions assigned to Tip and Ring.

COMPACT Z-4 STYLE ALTERNATIVE

This controller is particularly useful when pedalboard space is limited.

Instead of dedicating a large amount of floor or pedalboard space to a conventional dual amp footswitch, you get two switching functions in a narrow 3.63" enclosure.

Great for compact boards, fly rigs, backup rigs or anyone who simply wants their amp controls mounted directly on the pedalboard.

PASSIVE OPERATION

No power required.

The controller uses simple mechanical contact switching to control the amplifier.

No battery or external power supply is needed.

IMPORTANT COMPATIBILITY NOTE

This footswitch is intended for compatible ENGL amplifiers using a conventional 1/4" TRS dual-foot switching connection such as applications designed for an ENGL Z-4 style footswitch.

It is NOT a replacement for ENGL proprietary foot controllers such as the Z-5 or Z-9, and should NOT be connected to ENGL proprietary Serial Amp Control (S.A.C.) ports.

ENGL amplifiers vary in the functions assigned to their footswitch inputs.
