The Smallsound/Bigsound F*ck Overdrive was inspired by the disintegrating crackling sounds heard on William Basinski’s 2002 record The Disintegration Loops, and seeks to replicate a lot of those sounds in pedal format. A low- to high-gain JFET overdrive is at the core of the circuit, giving players an OD that ranges from crystal clean boost to beefy fuzz, and it also features a dynamically modulated “sag” feature, which replicates the overloaded, blown tube sounds without actually causing any damage to your gear.
