A true PRS Private Stock instrument — not the production "20th Anniversary Artist Package" line, but a one-off, individually built Custom 22, Private Stock #920, completed in 2005 to mark PRS's 20th anniversary as a company.Hand-signed by Paul Reed Smith himself on the back of the headstock, and built by the Private Stock team of Joseph Knaggs, Dave Hazel, Dana Seidman, Michael Byle, Paul Miles, and Scott Bloomfield, per the original signed PRS certificate that accompanies the guitar.This one has the features collectors look for in a Private Stock: a curly maple top and neck, South American mahogany back, and genuine Brazilian rosewood fingerboard and headstock veneer — increasingly hard to find on any modern-build guitar. The natural finish shows off the figure in the maple beautifully. Gold hardware throughout, including a gold PRS tremolo and gold locking mini tuning pegs with ebony buttons.Anniversary details are inlaid, not printed: a brown lip pearl Private Stock eagle with 14K gold outlines and a 20th Anniversary banner on the headstock, brown lip pearl 20th Anniversary bird inlays with 14K gold outlines and wisps on the fingerboard, and matching curly maple purfling along the fingerboard, headstock veneer, and truss rod cover.Electronics are Dragon II pickups (treble and bass) wired through PRS's Custom 22 5-way rotary switching.Comes complete with the original tan leather PRS Private Stock case (black crushed velvet interior with embroidered eagle), the original signed PRS certificate/build sheet, warranty card, and care materials.
