A 1963 Gibson Byrdland Sunburst has arrived!! Serial No.: 61537, Pot Date: 134-6232~4. This 1963 model features a pointed Florentine/pointed cutaway. Introduced in 1955, the Byrdland is based on the L-5 but is distinguished by its thin-walled Thinline body and short-scale neck. It adopts the same body shape as the company's popular L-5 full-hollow body model. While they look very similar at first glance, the body is thinner, resulting in a more comfortable size to hold. The neck scale is a 597mm short scale. With its slim neck shape, this model is designed to be easy to hold and play. It is equipped with two original numbered PAF pickups. The pots and capacitors are also original. * The can shield was opened to check the pot's age but has been resealed. The neck has a dowel at the heel. The neck was removed once and reset. There is a crack mark near the side jack on the body, but it has been patched from the inside. It is highly likely that the neck was color-matched at the dowel area and then over-lacquered along with the body to match the finish. However, since it blends in seamlessly, we suspect this was done quite some time ago. Replaced parts include the saddle, which has been swapped out for a mid-60s or later model with Pat Number ABR-1. The pickguard has been reinforced but is warped. While there are signs of wear, such as cracks and discoloration, it is evident that the guitar has been well-maintained and played. Currently, it is in good playing condition and will continue to serve you well. This is a player's condition Byrdland?a model that enjoys high popularity among hollow-body guitars?featuring a high degree of originality in its electronics and designed for casual, everyday use. We recommend it to those seeking a vintage jazz guitar that's ready to play. * We sincerely apologize, but due to the nature of this product, we are unable to accommodate requests for pickup or transfer to other Ishibashi Gakki locations.
