About this listing
This an un-played, NOS, 2014 Deluxe Player's Strat (MIM Deluxe Series, at their Ensenada plant) in immaculate condition. I purchased it for a Studio that never happened and it has been stored since new. It's one of my "Unicorns" for sale as these have been out of production for 10 years, and yet here is this one last one just as it left the factory (or more precisely - Sweetwater, who do a constantly wonderful job of QA and setup). Sweetwater have long been my first choice when buying New because in addition to their great quality control they also show multiple pictures of the actual guitar, it's S/N and list it's weight. So I select the lightest weight after first choosing by the wood grain pattern, and this one (IMHO) is a real beauty. According to Fender, since 2020 "what little Ash we are able to source will continue to be made available in select, historically appropriate vintage models, as supplies are available" hence their recent Guitars have had to rely on other woods like Alder - so this solid Ash body (like the original '54-56 Strat's), MIM in New condition Deluxe Player's Strat is a true rarity. Only letting this go because I have other Strats that have visible mileage on them, I have way too many guitars and my storage space is being reduced. To the happy Buyer: Enjoy!Note: The pictures show the front Pick Guard (that's never seen a Pick) and rear Tremolo Cavity Cover still have their original plastic film protection, so the Tortoiseshell may look slightly cloudy, but that's just the protective film which you can easily remove. Edited, original Sweetwater description:The Rebirth of Fender's Original "Super Strat"! From 1998--2004, Fender released a surprisingly upscale Strat, called the Supper Stratocaster. In 2005, by popular demand, Fender released the Deluxe Player's Stratocaster, an updated version of the former Super Strat. Upgraded with American-made Vintage Noiseless pickups, with a 12-inch neck radius and Medium Jumbo frets, it's a real workhorse of a guitar. And, it includes the push button switch that gives the player seven different pickup combinations.Fender Deluxe Player's Strat at a Glance: Solid Ash body with 3-color Sunburst polyester finish. Four-ply Brown Tortoiseshell pickguard and Gold plated hardware.Three Vintage Noiseless Strat pickups with special “Super Strat” added push button pickup voicing. One-piece maple neck and fingerboard with modern "C" shape. The Trademark Strat Sound - Plus! The Deluxe Player's Strat ships with premium Vintage Noiseless Strat pickups and a five-way blade switch and like the original Super Strat, it adds a special push button that activates the Bridge pickup in positions 4 and 5, giving the Deluxe Player's Strat seven possible pickup combinations for extraordinary tonal possibilities. David Gilmour had a mini-toggle added to his Black Strat giving him a similar 7-way pickup selection, and others likewise mod’d their Strats. It’s standard here on the Deluxe Player's Strat.Fast Playing Maple Neck In the 1950s and well into the 1970s, the blond natural maple neck became almost synonymous with Fender guitars. The Deluxe Player's Strat comes with a one-piece maple neck and fingerboard, but with a modern "C" shape and a slightly wider 12-inch radius for super smooth licks, runs and arpeggios. In keeping with contemporary player preferences, the fast playing neck is finished in a silky-smooth satin polyurethane.Fender Deluxe Player's Strat Features: Color: 3-color sunburst.
