About this listing
Here's a 1963 Fender Esquire Custom in 3-Tone Sunburst finish. Exceptional, all original example! No breaks, cracks, repairs. This rare, single-pickup Custom Esquire is stamped 3OCT 63B on the neck heel, while the pots date to the 50th week of 1963. It shows some light wear, but overall is clean, and in very nice condition. Especially the original sunburst finish, which is still very vibrant and unfaded. The guitar features a double-bound alder body, maple neck, with a rosewood fingerboard. By the time this one was assembled in late 1963, the Custom Esquire was made in very minimal numbers, likely only when a dealer ordered one. Needless to say, this is a rare treasure! And an incredible playing and sounding one to match! The neck plays like butter, with consistent low action down the freeboard. The original frets still have life left as well. The original single coil pickup is bright, clean, and NOT thin. It's how you want an incredible bridge pickup in a Telecaster/Esquire to sound. It's also very resonant. 10 out of 10! The original ashtray bridge, along with the original blond tolex hard shell case are both included!Neck Measurements -1st fret- .845"5th fret- .91"12th fret- 1.00"Weight- 6lbs 14ozNut Width- 1 5/8"Before shipping, all guitars & basses receive a fresh, deep clean, along with a pro setup to your spec's!
