2004 Epiphone Flying V - Ebony, made in Korea in Feb 2004, if I read the serial number correctly. This guitar is used, but in very good condition. The only issue is that the Epiphone logo that was on the headstock has come off, I still have it so feel free to try to stick it back on again - although I recommend an expert do this.
There is some wear of the gold finish on the pickup covers, the bridge and the tuners. This is to be expected from a 22 year old instrument.
Where the photos appear to show blemishes (mostly the back view), this is actually a reflection. There is some really faint wear on the back, but it is almost invisible.
There is a question mark over the wood used for the body, I don’t know, I am the second owner of this instrument. It is quite possible that it might be Korina, and I have seen a similar example for sale saying that, and the gold hardware points that way too, but, without digging away the finish to see, it’s hard to tell. It will be Korina or Alder, it’s pretty light.
Whatever it is made of, it plays very well and sounds great. I had it set up by Jim at Planet Guitar in Orpington probably 18 months ago and I think I have only used it once since then.
Comes with a Ordo hard case.
I’m selling as I am now in a 50s cover band, and so whipping out a V could cause some palpitations in the audience, even if it is sort-of period correct.
