The AMS DM2-20 Tape Phase Simulator is one of the most sought-after vintage rack phasers/flangers ever produced. Designed in the early 1980s after extensive research into real tape phasing behavior, the DM2-20 uses fully analog audio electronics to recreate authentic tape phasing and true through-zero flanging (TZF) in real time.

This is not a typical phaser. The DM2-20 runs two independent delay lines, allowing one channel’s delay time to increase while the other decreases. As they cross, you get the unmistakable “jet plane” through-zero effect that very few units in history can produce correctly.

A rare studio classic capable of sounds ranging from subtle phase movement to dramatic stereo flanging, delay textures, and manually timed sweep effects that can be matched perfectly to musical passages.
