Yamaha JX20 Vintage Guitar Amplifier Made in Japan – real spring reverb
Vintage Yamaha JX20 solid-state guitar combo amplifier, made in Japan in the early 1980s. A well-built and reliable amp from Yamaha’s classic JX series, known for its clean sound, simplicity, and excellent Japanese craftsmanship.
Rated at 20 watts, the JX20 features a 10” speaker, making it ideal for home use, studio recording, rehearsals, or as a compact vintage combo that works very well with pedals.
The amp includes a real spring reverb, warm and natural-sounding, and a Pull-Gain Volume control: pulling the gain knob engages a higher-gain stage for extra grit and saturation, while a separate Master Volume allows good control over overall loudness. Tone shaping is handled by Bass and Treble controls, and there are High and Low inputs to match different pickup outputs.
Condition:
- Fully functional, tested and working as it should
- Cosmetic condition is fair / decent, with signs of age and use (please see photos)
- Original vintage character preserved
Key features:
- 20W solid-state combo
- 1×10” speaker

- Pull-Gain Volume + Master Volume
- Bass & Treble EQ

- Made in Japan
A great choice for players looking for a straightforward vintage amp with character, clean tones, and a surprisingly usable gain option. Also perfect for collectors or fans of classic Yamaha gear.
