Hara M180 – Japanese Record Cutting Machine

Working and in excellent condition. Comes with a brand new Myshank Vanrock diamond cutting stylus.

A rare portable Japanese 7" record-cutting lathe from the 1970s, made by the same company that produced the Vanrock E101 and Atom A101 machines.

This lathe cuts 7" mono records at 45 RPM. The motor works, the amplifier works, and the cutting head receives signal correctly. Included are a brand new Myshank Vanrock diamond stylus (retail $270 USD, it can always be re sharpened by Myshank), the original record clamp, original power cord, and a Japanese-language manual/brochure (reproduction). The unit runs on 100V (Japanese standard) a voltage converter will be required depending on your country. I have personally cut many records on this lathe with great results.

These machines are very rare, especially this variant with the record player arm and plinth. The playback arm is currently disconnected but can be reconnected by a technician. I removed the metal cover from the cutting arm as it interferes with the cutting process, it will be included and reattached for shipping. 

The Myshank Vanrock diamond stylus is brand new. Beginners are strongly advised to practice first with a sapphire stylus (not included) before using a diamond stylus, which offers superior audio quality but is more expensive to replace.
