Egmond Toledo Student mid. 1960s - red-brown - Acoustic Guitar
1960s - Egmond Frères RED LADY Toledo P1 - Vintage Acoustic Guitar
Manufactured around 1960 in Holland by the Egmond Guitar manufacturer.
One of the earlY models in the Toledo series with a symmetrical headstock and single tailpiece.
Serial number: 96010412 - the real vintage deal
The guitar is in very good condition. Except for a few minor surface scratches, which are no surprise after about 60 years.
A true vintage sound that only these old guitars offer. Ideal for blues and fingerpicking. The nut, tuners, and tailpiece are original. One of the tuner buttons was replaced by the previous owner with a new, almost identical one. The bridge is a floating bridge, which is easily adjustable in its position, making it easy to fine-tune the intonation. The original bridge was made of plastic and has been replaced with a contemporary 60s wooden bridge, which furthermore improves the sound. As with almost all Egmond Guitar models, the neck is a bolt-on neck. This means it is attached to the body with a screw, allowing the neck position and string spacing to be easily adjusted as needed.
The guitar has been cleaned, serviced, and restrung with 10-gauge strings.
The tuners operate smoothly, and the frets are polished and dressed. The body, top, back, sides, and fingerboard are made of top-quality instrument-grade beech and birch laminate, which has been beautifully dried and aged over the decades, giving the guitar its distinctive blues sound. The neck is made of ash and is almost free of dents and scratches. The guitar has now become a collector's item, and its value is sure to increase, as there aren't many playable copies left.
Little anecdote:
In 1956, George Harrison began playing guitar with a similar EGMOND 105/0, which was also sold under the name EGMOND-TOLEDO. In England, Egmond guitars were sold under the name ROSETTI. George Harrison thus had a ROSETTI 276.
Brian May's first guitar was also an Egmond Toledo.

1960s-Egmond Student - Red Lady - Toledo P1 -G 105/0- Vintage Akustische Gitarre
Seriennummer: 96010412 - the real Vintage-Deal
