Here's an 8-string electric mandolin by Joseph Yanuziello of Canada. Joe is a highly regarded luthier whose guitars and mandolins have been used by many noted pro musicians.
This particular mandolin is a good example, as it formerly belonged to Mike Wanchic, a Bloomington, Indiana guitarist known for his work with John Mellencamp. As the photos indicate, this mandolin is a road warrior, with obvious wear and scratches along the back and sides, and a strip of clear tape along one side. The mandolin has a white top, a 15-inch scale length, and a single Lindy Fralin pickup. It is a very early example of this model, since it has only a volume control knob and no tone knob. Remarkable tone and very comfortable to play.
A new electric mandolin from Yanuziello, with a hardshell case, will cost you $5,100 in American dollars. This one isn't new and comes with a gig bag, and the price represents a considerable savings compared to a new one.
