Impecable Marantz 7C & 8B Tube Performance Duo Collectors Edition

Two iconic Marantz pieces simply stunning in how resplendent and healthy they look. Both have underwent extensive care maintenance, obviously and have been extremely well taken care of.
 Marantz Model 7. This is a very rare early SN.in the 11000's Telefunkens and Case included.

The 8b Marantz  unit was purchased from a shop in NY city in 2007 and they had it serviced and checked from top to bottom. It has only been used sparingly by the owner (a Canadian musician) in his studio for mix referencing. He would love to keep it for recording use, but long hours on end don’t fair well for tube life. It deserves a loving home for 2 channel playback; the midrange warmth is incredible on this amp.

It was last serviced by tube expert technician, John Fletcher in Toronto, as the bias meter was no longer working. He suggested calibrating the bias with the one he provided (shown in one of the photos), then simply put the original one back in, to retain the vintage look. He also replaced a caps and tested the unit to be 100%.

The EL34 Tung Sol tubes are recent from the TubeStore. They sound great and have lots of life left in them. The 6BH6’s are NOS Sylvania’s that the TubeStore recommended, as well as the EH 6CG7s.

Both look like a collector's wet dream taken on their own. Together you've really gotten yourself something special in many ways. Especially with these accumulating value exponentially as other models fail and these thrive in sound  and aesthetics.
