UFIP Experience Collector 21" Ride – 1760g – Rotocast B20

This UFIP cymbal combines plenty of wobble, a low fundamental and a dark wash that supports the stick definition. Add a short, fast crash and a raw, dark bell that makes playing Latin patterns a pleasure and you have the extra light 21" UFIP Experience Collector Ride.

At just 1760g, this cymbal demonstrates that UFIP's Rotocasting process is capable of producing light and extra-light cymbals, not just heavy ones.

The Collector Rides from UFIP's Experience Series were designed to capture the dark, thin jazz ride sound of the 1940s and 1950s. Made from Rotocast B20 bronze, with hand hammering and traditional lathing.

The balance between stick definition and wash can be controlled through playing position. Closer to the bell, the stick takes the lead, supported by a dark cushion of sound. Moving towards the edge brings out more wash without losing articulation.

The raw, unlathed top features a dense pattern of overlapping hammer marks made with three different hammer sizes. The deeper and shallower impressions overlap like fish scales. The underside is finely lathed and unhammered.

With its dark fundamental, adjustable stick-to-wash balance, short crash response and raw, powerful bell, this ride is well suited to jazz, singer-songwriter, indie and acoustic settings.
