About this listing
The Super Bass is a legendary all-tube amp head, originally derived from the famous Super Lead (Plexi) but designed for bass. It shares a similar architecture with the Super Lead 1959, with a few tonal differences—most notably, an extended low-end response and slightly different capacitor values. Although intended for bass, it became widely used by iconic guitarists such as Jimi Hendrix and Jimmy Page for its warm, powerful, and open tone, delivering progressive natural saturation when cranked. This model has no master volume and features four inputs (High/Low for each channel), allowing for channel jumping to expand tonal versatility. Powered by EL34 tubes, the Super Bass is highly sought after for its authentic vintage Plexi sound, incredible dynamics, and rock-solid build. It's a cult amp, with a unique character, perfect for the studio or stage—provided you can turn it up loud! This one comes with a matching 4x12 cab from 1969, reference 1935, loaded with a quartet of Pre-Rola Celestion G12M Greenbacks. Made during one of the brand’s most sought-after periods, this half stack is prized by fans of classic rock, blues, and '70s hard rock.A raw, master volume–free setup that truly shines when plugged into a good 4x12... or two! Stunning and extremely rare in red tolex. Approaching its 60th anniversary, it shows signs of life but functions flawlessly, with freshly replaced power tubes.More pix and details upon request.Shipping worldwide available.
