About this listing
Hello everyone,I am reluctantly selling my beautiful 2013 Gibson J-35 Banner. This is a guitar with an incredible personality and, above all, an exceptional sound. It has just come back from Guitare Station in Pigalle, Paris, where it received a complete setup. It is now set up with low action, absolutely no fret buzz, and delivers truly remarkable projection.A special mention, of course, has to go to the iconic “Only a Gibson is good enough” inscription on the headstock, which was one of the things that originally made me fall in love with this guitar. It is currently set up in standard tuning with a fresh set of D’Addario XS 12–53 strings. And what projection… This J-35 has regularly surprised guitarists who have played it alongside me with Martins or Furch guitars sometimes costing several times as much. It has that very lively, powerful and immediate character that you specifically look for in a great American acoustic guitar. It is, of course, fitted with the original L.R. Baggs pickup system, making it equally at home played acoustically, at home, on stage or plugged into a PA system. It will be sold with all of its original accessories:Original Gibson hardshell caseOriginal Gibson pickGibson keychainOriginal paperwork / documentationRecent invoice from Guitare Station for the complete setupConditionThe guitar naturally has some signs of use consistent with its age, and I prefer to be completely transparent about this.A few typical, very light finish scratches, barely visibleA few small marks from normal use, which I have tried to photograph as clearly as possibleNo cracksThere is a mark on the nitrocellulose finish on the back of the neck, caused by improper handling by the previous owner with this type of finish. It has since been professionally repaired by a luthier and is completely smooth to the touch when playing. The guitar is therefore structurally sound, healthy and ready to play.It can be viewed and played in Rueil-Malmaison, just outside Paris and very close to La Défense.I would also be happy to arrange a video call so that you can see and hear the guitar before making the trip.Hand delivery is preferred, but shipping can also be arranged depending on your preference. It is becoming increasingly difficult to find a genuine American-made Gibson acoustic guitar, built entirely with solid woods, equipped with a pickup and supplied with its original case, at this price point.More importantly, this particular J-35 has the projection, character and immediate response that you look for in a great American dreadnought, while remaining extremely comfortable and enjoyable to play. The asking price naturally takes its cosmetic history into account and represents a great opportunity for someone looking for a genuine Gibson acoustic without stepping into the price range of high-end new models.I would also encourage you to check out the many reviews and demos of the J-35. Its reputation certainly speaks for itself.SpecificationsModel: Gibson J-35 Banner – 2013Made in: USADouble-bound slope-shouldered dreadnought bodyGloss Natural finishSolid Sitka Spruce topMahogany back & sidesW-B-W rosetteB-W-B top purfling14-fret Mahogany neckRosewood fingerboard & bridge19 frets1-23/32” nut width25-3/4” scale lengthPearl dot inlaysFirestripe plastic pickguardFactory L.R.
