The Austrian Audio CC8 Stereo Set consists of two CC8 small diaphragm condenser microphones, two OCH8 microphone clamps, two CCW8 windscreens, SB1 stereo bar and transport case. The CC8 is hand-built in Vienna and comes in a robust metal housing and grille cap. Under the bonnet is the OCC7 capsule, which is also handmade and modelled on the classic AKG CK1 vintage microphone capsule. It contains a gold-plated diaphragm made of 3 micrometre-thick polyethylene naphthalate (PEN) and is more durable than conventional Mylar alternatives. The sound of the CC8 is extremely natural and even at high levels the mids and highs remain round and smooth. Thanks to its excellent reproduction of fast transients and its low self-noise of 16dB SPL (A), it is suitable for almost all conceivable acoustic instruments such as drum sets, percussion, acoustic guitar, piano, string instruments, wind instruments, choirs and more.
