AS Pedals OCHOfuzz

OCHOfuzz is our version of the “Experience”, originally manufactured by Prescription Electronics. This circuit was basically a Foxx Tone Machine (1971) with a “swell” circuit added, which causes the signal to cut off and then slowly bloom each time a note is played.

Although there is no evidence that Jimi Hendrix used a Foxx Tone Machine in any of his recordings, the sound of the OCHOfuzz will undoubtedly make you feel the spirit of Jimi in each of the octave notes, it seems as if Jimi lived within these controls.

The fuzz alone is incredibly thick, aggressive, and most importantly, never nasal sounding like most fuzz pedals. This dynamic fuzz saturation is relatively consistent between different amplifiers. Most older fuzz pedals are very picky about which amps help them sound good and which don't.

The fuzz has a lot of bass, but it is never overbearing, enough so that it never sounds excessively thin. While it doesn't clean up with your guitar's volume pot like a Fuzz Face would, having control over tone will help you fine-tune the balance of bass and treble in a recording situation, even when using different amps.

Another feature of the OCHOfuzz is the fantastic OCTAVIA-style adjustment.

Activating this effect adds a second pure octave above the note you are already playing to your sound. Unlike other Octafuzzes, this octave note is maintained practically throughout the entire neck.

Interestingly, the tone and gain control change completely when working with the octave setting. The Tone control helps set the octave cutoff frequency and the Gain control helps set the sensitivity of the pick attack.

By activating the Swell switch, always with Bypass and Octave activated, the pedal enters what is known as swell mode. The boost function removes the initial attack of a selected note, much like how a piece of music sounds after it has been recorded backwards.

For best clarity in the swell effect there should be no other effects connected in the signal chain before the amplifier.
