About this listing
Up for sale is my SANTA CRUZ GUITAR COMPANY Custom OM with Honduran Rosewood back and sides [the CITES certificate indicates the generic Rosewood species term "Dalbergia"] and a lightly bearclaw Appalachian Red Spruce top. Richard Hoover name printed on interior label ; Serial No. 4594"The true rosewoods belong to the genus Dalbergia (family Fabaceae).Dalbergia nigra → Brazilian rosewoodDalbergia latifolia → East Indian rosewoodDalbergia stevensonii → Honduras rosewoodDalbergia retusa → Cocobolo (sometimes grouped with rosewoods)So, the generic name is Dalbergia.Other woods sometimes marketed as “rosewood” (but not true rosewoods) can come from different genera, such as Pterocarpus, Machaerium, or even unrelated species—but the authentic, proper generic name is Dalbergia."This guitar is All Acoustic. This is the real deal beautiful aesthetic full modern OM appeal❗My sales are very controlled by myself only as I am a private seller and not a store shop, so if the guitar is up for sale on Reverb then it is available for purchase; the guitar shipped to you will be exactly the one in the advertisement pictures. Once I list a guitar for sale on reverb it is not used or touched again unless there is a seller's reason to do so.I am not the original owner of this guitar for many years now - however it has little play time on it - my reason for selling is to thin the herd. I purchased this guitar resale in 2017 from CREAM CITY MUSIC, BROOKFIELD, WI.I'm a man-cave player , so this SCGC has never been out of my home , and unless played , it's in the case , in my temp/humidity controlled environment. It is in Mint condition for it's age, no scratches, no dings, and may find only the faintest micro swirling - just 'cause that's the way I keep all my instruments.I give this guitar two thumbs up for it's amazing clear balanced articulate tone and all USA American build quality. I play only fingerstyle guitar and this one has a solid great feel and lively open tone to it. If requested I'd be happy to suppy a 24bit.wave sound clip to the serious interest. This guitar has amazing construction , wood selection and specs for the price , with some of the key features being...- USA American build construction...- Santa Cruz, California , 95060- Richard Hoover , Luthier name on Label- Serial No. 4594- Solid Appalachian Red Spruce top with lightly bearclaw- beautiful medium brown Honduran Rosewood back and sides- "scgc" Pearl inscripted Headstock logo- Ebony fretboard Ivoroid bound in curly Koa- high gloss nitrocellulose lacquer finish full body and headstock plate with curly Koa bound body- black/wood stripe purfling and curly Koa rosette- GOTOH 510 gold tuners [1:21]Using digital calipers the nut width is 1.79"string spacing at the saddle is 2.29" outside to outside on the E strings.Scale Length 25" &⅜"EIR body depth...Lower bout at the end = 4" &¼"Upper body at the neck = 3" &⅜"Lower bout 15" &⅛"Upper bout ~11" &¼"I would describe the neck carve as a fuller feeling 'C' shape [a modern balance ; not chuncky] with gloss finish and a perfect volute. As for the radius I give it a 12 inch average feel similar to any custom Martin fretboard ; I don't have the instrument to measure this exactly. This guitar is set up with a still really good condition set of Elixir Nanoweb 80/20 Bronze 12-53 ; (i happen to tune my guitars most often E-flat to e-flat) ; string set-up is nice and low good for fingerstyle, which is what I play. This guitar sounds and looks absolutely amazing! This may be [my opinion of course] one of the top best sounding guitars i had purchased to that date. I'll try and have a sound clip available to share to serious interests. It also comes with it's original custom built Ameritage hard shell case [inscripted for Santa Cruz on the inside and on the exterior] with smooth velvet cream color interior all in excellent conditionThe guitar will be in the exact condition I have advertised it and all the pics are taken the same day this adv. was posted. My asking price is set more than reasonable, and sale priced which is already several points better than reasonably good , and is currently low as I'm willing to take it ; so the b.o. option is not available.SHIPPING Rates [Instructions]: Buyer Prepaid Shipping Label:box dimensions: 46.00" x 19.00" x 9.00"box weight with case/guitar in: 30 lbs [yes this item will be considered heavy with it's case][this would be the best method for us both][Feel free to select from Canada Post , UPS or FedEx services with your pre-paid label]Once the purchase is made via Reverb you will receive the exact ship from address. This guitar is available for Local Pick-up in the Greater Toronto Area ; Meeting will need to be arranged at a pre-agreed area inside of a major mall within the GTA only.Important notice for Local Pick-up only:Local Pick-up will require a $2000 deposit fee paid in advance via an e-transfer prior to meeting ; this will help ensure a commitment to complete the purchase ; the full amount deposit fee will be deducted from the listed selling price in the final payment.Reverb is an On-line sales platform ; some have gotten the wrong idea that meeting is to have an opportunity to "try" the guitar to make a decision whether to purchase ; not so ; the only reason for meeting is to complete the transaction at the advertised sale price , also no re-negotiating the price ; and to give the buyer an opportunity to pay only for the guitar list price yet excluding the shipping cost and the obligatory platform sales taxes. There will be no handling of the guitar until it is paid for in full ; there are plenty of pictures and instrument information here in the advertisement to help with a decision to purchase. No Trades. This is a private sale and not a store shop.Note: If you intend to pick up this instrument Locally please notify me first _before payment is made via Reverb so I can remove the shipping charge ! I do Not want to have to refund the shipping charge _it does not work out well at my end in the final balance of payment !Important Notice for Local Pick-up - you will absolutely have to Mark the 'Received Item' on the Reverb phone app. and show me as you process , before i can hand the case and guitar over to you - afterward you may review it as you wish - but please be reminded , once paid , my sales are advertised as 'final sale & no return'.This is a private sale but sales taxes are collected by Reverb on behalf of the CDN government via new rules for on-line sales for CDN residents.Local Pick-up/? message me about paying off of Reverb with an e-transfer or cash at place and time of meeting _to avoid the platform's obligatory sales taxes collection. There will be no re-negotiating the advertised sales price at that time ; and yes , I still will have to pay to Reverb their sales commission listing fee.The sale is final and there is no refund policy. Thanks for looking and let me know if you are interested - the best way to contact me is via direct messaging Reverb platform.Thank you ! erik@ag
