Here for sale we have a PRS CE 24 electric guitar in Chrome Blue finish. Made in the USA in 2006, the original CE was introduced in 1988 and offered players PRS design and quality with the added snap and sparkle of traditional bolt-on guitars. This bolt-on construction comprises a Mahogany body, Maple neck and 24 fret Rosewood fingerboard. Nickel hardware is fitted, including a PRS Patented 6-point vintage-style Tremolo and PRS designed Locking Tuners. A pair of PRS humbucking pickups are installed, with an HFS in the bridge and a Vintage Bass in the neck. These are wired to a 5-way rotary switch, master volume and master tone controls. The Maple neck plays exceptionally well, with the 'Wide Thin' profile filling the hand nicely without being at all cumbersome. Certainly, the profile is thick enough to sustain a firm grip when chord playing whilst remaining slim enough for fast articulate melodic lines. The Rosewood fingerboard is pleasant under the fingers, and with its 10" radius is practical for a wide range of styles and techniques. The smooth gloss finish to the rear of the neck assists with navigation of the 25" scale, whilst the double cutaway design with signature PRS chamfered horn ensures unobstructed access to the upper register for soloing. Amplified, the pair of PRS humbucking pickups deliver plenty of grunt and character, with the 5-way switching delivering a wide range of tones appropriate for many genres and playing styles. The HFS in the bridge is nice and hot, with a powerful output that can easily drive your amp into a saturated distortion for rock rhythm parts and riffs. Indeed, 'HFS' stands for Hot, Fat & Screams! The Vintage humbucker in the neck is of course rounder, producing a smooth and clear tone for solos and lead lines, as well as a crystalline, glassy clean tone. A beautiful instrument which has developed its own unique character over the years. Light indentations are present to all aspects of the headstock, the most apparent of these can be seen to the top edge rear face and near the low E tuning machine, these have not broken the finish.Very light scratching can be seen to the front face which can only be seen under direct light.Neck: Overall very good condition. Light indentations are present to the rear of the neck across the register, these can be slightly felt in the playing position with the most apparent being felt at the treble side 9th fret displaying light discoloration. A light indentation is present to the 2nd fret of the fingerboard, this can not be felt in the playing position. The Satin finish to the rear of the neck has been polished to a Gloss texture through regular past use, this is common with Satin finishes.Body: Overall very good condition. Light to mild chipping and indentation is present to all aspects of the body, the most apparent of these can be seen to front face bass side lower bout edge where a previous finish repair can be seen. Further to this more mild chipping to the finish can be seen to the lower bout front face and the edges of the body some of which expose the wood beneath. Fine lacquer cracks can be seen on both the bass and treble sides of the neck pocket; this is common with bolt-on construction and does not affect the structure. Light to mild scratching is present to all aspects of the body which can be viewed under direct light, the most apparent of these can be seen to both the bass side of the pickups and to the bass side of the rear face, these are consistent with ‘buckle rash/play wear’ from regular past use.Condition of Frets:The frets demonstrate mild signs of use, with light denting in the early register, not affecting playability. There is considerable material remaining for any fret work the new owner may wish to perform. Current Set Up:Truss Rod: Fully functional. Truss rod tool (5/16" socket) not included.Hardware: Overall very good condition and fully functional. Mild tarnishing and oxidation of the finish is present to the bridge plate and saddles, this is consistent with regular past use and is most apparent to the bass side saddles. Grooves are present to the bridge pickup cover, these can be seen below the B and high E strings and are consistent with past use in a high contact area. Tremolo arm included.Structural: No concerns or issues to note.
