Here for sale we have a Gibson Les Paul Traditional electric guitar in Desert Burst finish. Made in the USA in 2008, this guitar features a set-neck construction comprising a traditionally weight relieved Mahogany body with 'AA' Flamed Maple top, Mahogany neck & 22 fret Rosewood fingerboard. Chrome hardware is fitted including a StopBar tailpiece, Nashville ToM bridge & Kluson Deluxe tuning machines with Keystone buttons. A pair of Gibson passive humbucking pickups are installed, with a '57 Classic in the neck & a '57 Classic plus in the bridge position. These are wired to a 3-way toggle switch & independent volume & tone controls. The Mahogany neck plays beautifully, with the '50s profile offering comfortable playability and easy reach across the register. The gloss finish to the rear assists with smooth navigation of the 24.75" scale length, whilst the single cutaway body design ensures easy access to the upper frets. The Rosewood of the fretboard is pleasant under the fingers, and with its traditional 12" radius is practical for a wide range of playing styles and techniques. Traditional weight relief keeps the instrument down to just 9.35lbs- certainly retaining some of the weight we expect from a Les Paul whilst reducing the number of times you'll need to see the chiropractor. The pair of Gibson humbucking pickups installed in this guitar deliver thick and full-bodied tones, perfect for the rock and blues tones the Les Paul has long been renowned for. The neck position is warm and round, with plenty of power for pushing your lead lines and solos to the front of the mix. The '57 Classic Plus in the bridge is of course brighter, saturating into a thick distortion when driving the amp. There is all of the snarl and bite that we associate with rockin' Les Paul tones, yet at the same time definition and clarity is retained. The pickups clean up nicely too, with shimmering clean sounds ready for the softer sections of the set. The traditional Les Paul controls are as versatile as ever, offering comprehensive control of your sound right on the guitar. Very light cracking of the lacquer is present at the seam between the headstock & headstock overlay, as is common with Gibson guitars. This is most notable to the treble side near the nut. Light checking of the nitro finish is apparent to the front & rear faces. The front face shows light to mild scratching when viewed under direct light, most notable surrounding the tuning machines. Neck: Overall excellent condition. Very light scratching to the rear of the neck is visible throughout the register, as is common with high gloss finishes. These markings are not felt under the thumb & do not impact the playability of the instrument. Body: Overall very good condition. All aspects of the body show light to mild nitro checking, as is common with nitro finishes. This is most notable near the binding where light cracking of the finish is also present. A light crack is present in the binding at the bass side shoulder. This has been tested and presents no structural concern. Light to mild indentation & scratching is apparent throughout, most notable to the rear face consistent with buckle rash. Condition of Frets:The frets demonstrate light signs of use, not affecting playability. Light flattening of the frets is apparent in the early register. There is considerable material remaining for any fret work the new owner may wish to perform.Current Set Up:Truss Rod: Fully functional. Truss rod tool (5/16" socket) not included.Hardware: Very good condition with light scratching of the pickup covers. The pickguard shows mild scratching & a crack coming from the upper screwhole. The pickguard remains secure.
