Excellent condition, 8,5/10, Made in USA, including non-original hardcase, the only thing worth mentioning are the burn marks from a guitar hanger on both sides of the headstock, otherwise very clean, all original parts, has just received a refret (at AdLib in Sundbyberg) and a pro set up so it plays great, more info:

The Gibson L-5 CES is the electric cutaway version of the iconic L-5 acoustic archtop. In the first years of production, it featured P-90 pickups and later Alnico V pickups until humbuckers debuted in 1957, which is still uses. Unlike most other Gibson guitars, it has a 25.5 inch scale. It featured a sharp cutaway between 1960 - 1969, with a rounded cutaway for all other years.

In 1962, Pat. No. humbucker pickups replaced P.A.F. humbuckers. During 1973-76, the L-5 CES Custom Model was also offered, with a Super 400 neck - less than 20 were mfg. In 1974, neck volute was introduced. In 1981, neck volute was discontinued. Current production instruments (L-4 CES and L-5 CES models) are now part of the Historic Collection Series, found at the end of this section.
