Aquila Sugar trebles are a transparent bio-plastic derived from sugar cane, developed in Italy. The sound is bright, clean and prompt with strong projection; Aquila's lab tests measured 18% more sound power and 24% more sustain than fluorocarbon. They keep strong vibrato and tonal range, and feel smooth without being slippery.

The basses carry a red protective varnish that cuts finger noise, prevents allergic reactions to metal and stops the oxidation common on silver-plated copper basses.

The Extra tension set is for flamenco only. It was developed with Ruben Diaz, pupil and close collaborator of Paco de Lucia, for the higher tension flamenco players want while keeping an even feel across all six strings.

Set 157C is the extra tension Sugar set, a full set of six strings. Made in Italy by Aquila Corde Armoniche.
