2021 marks the 90th anniversary of Rickenbacker Guitars, who have just revealed limited edition guitar and bass models to mark the occasion. The bass model is called the 4005XC and has some serious retro appeal.
It features a deluxe thinline semi-hollow body crafted from maple with a three-piece maple neck complete with a skunk stripe. Its rosewood fretboard is adorned with “crushed pearl” triangle inlays while white checkered binding traces the body’s edges.
For electronics, the 4005XC has a pair of vintage “toasters” with stereo output jacks. Other features include a 30.5-inch scale and a Schaller bridge.
