About this listing
We have received a used Ovation 1868-1 Elite. Key specifications include a spruce top, lyrecord back, 5-piece mahogany neck, rosewood fingerboard, super-shallow body, and an OP-24 preamp. This instrument offers Ovationfs signature clear, resonant sound and excellent playability thanks to its easy-to-hold super-shallow body. Itfs a versatile model suitable for everything from live performances to home recording, and it continues to enjoy a loyal following today. Regarding its condition, there are significant dents, scratches, tarnish on the metal parts, and rust. It shows signs of aging and wear commensurate with its age. There is slight warping visible below the bridge on the top. Two large paint cracks are visible on the top, but they do not reach the wood. It will be sold as-is. The neck has a slight forward bow and no neck lift. The truss rod has been tested up to 60 degrees in both directions, but there is little adjustment left. The frets have been leveled, so there are no major irregularities, and approximately 70% of the original frets remain. The string action at the 12th fret is 2.6mm on the 6th string and 2.0mm on the 1st string, providing a relatively comfortable playing setup. Additionally, shim adjustments have been made. At our repair center, we have adjusted the nut slots and replaced the foam in the back panel. There are no issues with the electrical output, but there is a slight amount of noise when the Bass EQ is activated. The instrument will be delivered in its current condition. The original hard case is included. While it shows signs of wear commensurate with its age, it possesses a well-played-in character and is a model we highly recommend as a ready-to-play instrument for live performances.
